FINANCIAL REPORT -- 1ST OCTOBER 2022 - - 30TH SEPTEMBER 2023
AGM NOVEMBER 2023 W T ROBERTS HON TREASURER
I submit the AnnualReport and Accounts - (14th year) – for the period ending 30th September 2023.
As a result of the many changes made to fees and expenditure - as reported and approved at the 2022
AGM - our finances are now back on aneven keel.
There will be no changes to fees to counties next year except for the purchase of Black/White Blazer
badges to £12.50 (increase in purchase price).Umpire/marker allowances at National Championships will
be increased from next year.
All fees/expenditure will be reviewed by the finance committee next year
Hopefully we will continue to benefit from the EBF week at Potters (this year £4,480); but we no longer
receive the £5,000 grant for Skegness.
The Indoor Championships at Lincoln resulted in alower overspend of £3,760 (last year £4,684); and
Outdoor at Skegness of £2,777 (last year £3,602).
Income 2022 – 2023 £62,883.452021 – 2022 £ 64,039.01
Expenditure 2022 – 2023 £61,814.462021 – 2022 £73,561.53
This year’s expenditure is lower than that presented to the NEC as a result of the adjustment for the
Skegness Green hire not invoiced in 2022.
Overall:surplus of £ 1,068.99 2021 - 2022 deficit£9,522.52
Our overall fund stands at £ 80,516.63
Both income and expenditure were lower partly because there were 2 indoor championships covered by
last year’s account (2021 – 2022).
INVESTMENT
As reported last year; the two-year investment I originally made with Lloyds in 2011 (£ 52,500)only
resulted in interest of £ 56.48 over the past two years. The Bond matured in June this year; and I have re
invested £50,000 - again with Lloyds, which will give us interest of £3,404 over the next two years. The
timing coincided well with the high interest rate at the time.
I thank Counties for settling their invoices early which helps cash flow - even though the increased fees
imposed were made at short notice.Looking at the last two-year comparisons - the overall effect of the
fee increases to counties was approx. £11 to Male clubs and £8 to Ladies clubs.
The Accounts have been audited by Sadofskys – Hull – and they are happy to continue.
