The English Bowling Federation (EBF)
and English Women’s Bowling Federation (EWBF)

The English Bowling Federation and English Women’s Bowling Federation are long-established organisations representing and promoting the sport of flat-green bowls in England. They were formed from the amalgamation of several county bowling associations that wanted a common set of rules and a common competitive structure, particularly in the North and East of England.

The EBF & EWBF maintain their own distinct identities with their own governance structures (e.g. Presidents, Delegates and Executive Committees) but share a single administration to coordinate competitions while maintaining distinct identities. They conduct inter-county team championships and individual competitions both indoor and outdoor.

They promote bowlers’ participation under specific Federation laws (which are a variant of traditional rules) and encourage mixed clubs.

Both federations traditionally hold dual Championship Weeks, where men’s and women’s finals run side by side each year (often in Skegness in August), including county, mixed and individual events.
